Speaking Events

Most recently, Attorney Kolpan co-chaired North American Brain Injury Society's Legal Conference in New Orleans.  He also spoke on "Representing the Minimally Conscious Patient".

On May 10, 2018, Attorney Kolpan spoke at the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Attorneys Annual Conference.  Attorney Kolpan's topic was presenting the "smart person" with a brain injury before a jury.  He also joined a panel of noted brain injury attorneys answering questions from the attending members.

In March, 2018, Attorney Kolpan spoke at the North American Brain Injury Society's Legal Conference in Houston, TX.  Attorney Kolpan spoke on Direct Examination of Lay Witnesses, Treating Doctors and Experts.

On March 30, 2017, and for the thirtieth time, Attorney Kolpan co chaired the North American Brain Society's Legal Conference, the longest running brain injury legal conference in the United States.  Attorney Kolpan was joined by nationally renown physicians, providers and other attorneys for a three day intensive seminar on handling brain injury cases.  Attorney Kolpan spoke on "Direct Examination in Brain Injury Cases"

Attorney Kolpan was an invited speaker to the American Association for Justice's Annual Conference in Los Angeles, CA, July 22, 2016.  Attorney Kolpan was one of the featured speakers at the Traumatic Brain Injury Litigation Group's all day seminar.  Attorney Kolpan will be speaking on "Why We Need Third Party Observers at (Defense) TBI Exams."

Attorney Kolpan spoke at the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Attorneys' (MATA) Annual Conference on "Anatomy of a Brain Injury Case". MATA is Massachusetts premier plaintiff attorney's organization and is affiliated with the American Association for Justice (AAJ).

Attorney Kolpan was again the Co-Chairman of the North American Brain Injury Society's 29th Annual Legal Conference in Tampa, FL on April 7- 9, 2016.  Attorney Kolpan spoke at this Conference which is the largest legal conference on traumatic brain injury litigation.  Attorney Kolpan's topic was "Case Selection: What Makes Brain Injury Cases So Challenging?"  Attorney Kolpan and Attorney Simon Forgette of Seattle, WA first started the Conference twenty nine years ago under the auspices of the Brain Injury Association of American (formerly the National Head Injury Foundation).

Attorney Kolpan joined colleagues, Attorneys Carmen Durso, Mark Itzkowitz and Jeff Dion (Deputy Director of the Center for Victims of Crime) in an all day seminar, Civil Justice for Victims of Violent Crime in Massachusetts, attended by more than 130 victim advocates.  The seminar was held at Suffolk Law School, Boston, Ma.

Attorney Kolpan  recently presented before the Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital (Boston) medical residents on "Legal Issues Affecting Rehabilitation Professionals"

Attorney Kolpan recently Chaired the Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) seminar on "Brain Injuries."

Attorney Kolpan was again be the Co-Chairman of the North American Brain Injury Society's 26th Annual Legal Conference in New Orleans, LA on September18-21, 2013.  Attorney Kolpan also spoke at this Conference which is the largest legal conference on traumatic brain injury litigation.  Attorney Kolpan and Attorney Simon Forgette of Seattle, WA first started the Conference twenty five years ago under the auspices of the Brain Injury Association of American (formerly the National Head Injury Foundation).

Attorney Kolpan was a featured speaker at SEAK's Annual Conference, "Advanced IME Training" in Falmouth, Massachusetts on June 28-29, 2012.  Attorney Kolpan pressented a two day workshop on "How to be an Effective Medical Expert Witness".  Attorney Kolpan co-taught the workshop with Attorney James Mangraviti.  Workshop attendees were medical experts from across the country.
